The university provides accommodation to all the female and male undergraduate students in separate hostels within the Kilinochchi campus premises.

The rooms in students’ hostel of residence are typically shared by three to four students. There are no cooking facilities allowed in the hostels. The cafeteria system in the hostels provides food to students at a subsidized price. Other than cafeteria at halls of residence, there are faculty cafeterias within the campus premises (including Agriculture, Technology and Engineering) in the walking distance from the hostels. The hostels provide certain other facilities such as daily newspapers, and access to televisions in the common rooms. The hostels are managed and overseen by the Warden who is a senior member of the academic staff, and he/she is assisted by a full-time Sub-Warden and several part-time academic Sub-Wardens in administration and the maintenance of student welfare.
